Local Government and Business Leaders Discuss Township Economic Growth

A recent TECSA Eastern Cape meeting highlighted efforts to boost economic opportunities in townships and rural areas. Representatives from Emalahleni, Great Kei, and Ntabankulu municipalities shared plans to align with TECSA’s mission of creating sustainable local economies.

Ms. Chuma Matutu of Fresh Greens Enterprise spoke about linking small farmers with national and international buyers. “We are bridging the gap between producers and markets,” she said.

Mzamo Matyobeni, WR SETA Provincial Manager, praised TECSA’s grassroots approach. “This is how we drive real change—by working directly with communities,” he said.

The event concluded with a call for continued partnerships to ensure long-term growth. “We must turn discussions into action,” said Bheki Twala, TECSA National President.
