A Successful B2B Exchange Driving Township and Cross-Border Growth

The spirit of global collaboration came alive on 27 June 2025, as the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria, the Polish Chamber of Commerce, and Business Pledge Collaborators hosted the highly anticipated South Africa–Poland B2B Meetings at The Manor on Main in Midrand.

Bringing together over 60 Polish business delegates and a dynamic mix of South African township entrepreneurs, small business leaders, and sector stakeholders, the event delivered exactly what it promised: real, actionable connections that open pathways for trade, investment, and skills exchange.

🌍 A Platform for Meaningful Trade Partnerships

The event formed part of the Polish Business Mission to South Africa, with a carefully curated list of Polish companies spanning sectors such as agro-processing, manufacturing, energy solutions, infrastructure development, and technology. Local South African enterprises from across Gauteng and beyond took full advantage of the matchmaking sessions and networking lounges.

💬 Key Themes and Outcomes

Discussions revolved around:

  • Sourcing and supply chain partnerships between Polish exporters and township-based distributors.
  • Knowledge transfer opportunities for local SMMEs.
  • Potential joint ventures in renewable energy and smart township infrastructure.
  • Promoting youth and women-led businesses as reliable trade partners on the global stage.

The event included short business presentations, one-on-one B2B sessions, and informal breakaway circles — sparking new ideas and agreements that will continue beyond the venue.

🤝 Collaboration in Action

In his remarks, Mr. Andrzej Salamonczyk of the Polish Chamber of Commerce emphasized Poland’s commitment to deepening ties with Africa’s emerging township economies.
Ms. Jackie Radebe, co-organizer from Business Pledge Collaborators, highlighted how events like these break barriers for township entrepreneurs to connect directly with international partners.

📸 A Day to Remember

From handshake deals to group photos under the Manor’s historic trees, the atmosphere was electric with optimism. Many participants praised the ease of engagement, the quality of matchmaking, and the shared vision for township upliftment.

🚀 What’s Next?

Following this success, both the Polish Chamber and TECSA Foundation signaled plans to:

  • Develop a follow-up trade mission to Poland for selected township businesses.
  • Host sector-specific dialogues focusing on manufacturing, agro-processing, and green energy.
  • Create an online B2B portal to keep the connections alive throughout the year.

📢 TECSA’s Role

As a catalyst for township economic transformation, the TECSA Foundation continues to champion opportunities like these that align local SMMEs with global value chains — proving that township economies are ready to plug into the G20 conversation in real, tangible ways.
